Support Achieving the Target of 1 Million Barrels PetroChina Optimizes 11 Development Wells in 2023

Jakarta, EDITOR.ID,- SKK Migas confirmed that the Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. is currently actively, aggressively and efficiently carrying out a drilling program in 2023 to increase production and support the achievement of national oil and gas production in 2030 which has been set by the Government, namely 1 million barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 12 billion cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of gas .

PetroChina, which operates the Jabung Working Area in East Tanjung Jabung and West Tanjung Jabung Regencies, Jambi Province, has started the 2023 Drilling Campaign through probes in three wells namely SB-D21, NEB-93 and Panen-D15.

During January – March, PetroChina has carried out 5 (five) workover jobs and 11 well service jobs. Overall, the 2023 Drilling Program will cover 11 development wells in six fields, with a production target of 1,122.62 BOPD of oil and condensate and 24.30 MMSCFD of gas.

“We hope that the drilling programs in 2023 will run safely, on target and produce good results. The success of the drilling program is very important for increasing production in Jabung and PetroChina’s contribution to national oil and gas production,” said PetroChina Vice President Human Resources and Relations Dencio Renato Boele at a Media Gathering event with oil and gas journalists in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/4/2023).

Dencio emphasized that PetroChina will continue to improve occupational health and safety standards in all oil and gas exploration and production activities in Jabung. “The implementation of Health Safety Security and Environmental (HSSE) principles will be our top priority,” he said.

PetroChina is also committed to providing gas supplies for domestic needs.

Currently, PetroChina has a gas sale and purchase agreement with PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan for oil lifting in the Rokan Block, PT Batam National Electricity Service for electricity in Batam and its surroundings.

PetroChina also holds contracts with PT Gemilang Jabung Energi for electricity for the West Tanjung Jabung area and its surroundings, as well as PT Perusahaan Gas Negara for the supply of household gas networks for the West Tanjung Jabung area.
“In the future, domestic gas demand is predicted to increase. And PetroChina is ready to cooperate with more parties to meet domestic gas needs,” Dencio added.

In 2022, PetroChina recorded an average daily lifting realization of 15,618 BOPD of oil and condensate and 173 MMSCFD of gas.

Among other PSC Contractors, PetroChina is ranked seventh for oil and condensate production, and ninth for natural gas production and distribution.
