Jakarta, EDITOR.ID, – The military strength and fighting power of the Indonesian army is now increasingly strong and frightening. The Indonesian military is ranked 13th strongest in the world, beating several other countries such as Iran, Israel and Germany and even Ukraine.
So it is not surprising that the Indonesian military is highly respected by several other countries. There are a number of main Indonesian troops that are feared by the world. They are infantry troops who have special abilities, explosives expertise, and special operations. The ability and strength of one soldier is equivalent to 100 organic soldiers.
These special forces are the Special Forces Command, the Jala Mangkara Detachment (Denjaka), the Bravo Troop and the Frog Troop Command (Kopaska).
Even the United States has carried out joint exercises with the Indonesian military such as Kopassus.
Quoting from the Global Fire Power report, Wednesday 7 February 2024. In first place with the strongest military power is the United States, followed by Russia, China, India, South Korea, England, and in 13th place is Indonesia.
As is known, Indonesia already has several sophisticated combat equipment. Together with the Minister of Defense, Prabowo has brought in sophisticated defense equipment for the needs of the Indonesian military. Among them are plans to arrive in a fleet of 42 Rafale 4.5 generation fighter jets made in France. This jet is capable of carrying dozens of missiles of various types and has infrared fire.
Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto is said to have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the purchase of F-15 EX fighter jets from the United States.
The Indonesian military will also soon have two fleets of modern frigate class warships that already use digital navigation equipment. The two frigate class ships were said to have been purchased from Italy. And there are also those built in domestic shipyards with the name Red and White Frigate.
The frigate, which is being built at an Indonesian military shipyard, was designed by Babcock International.
The ship is based on the hull of Iver Huitfeldt’s Odense Maritime Technology (OMT) class frigate and is marketed as the Arrowhead 140. The design was sold to Indonesia as two Frigat Merah Putih (“Red-White frigates”) in September 2021, and to Poland for three Miecznik class frigates in March 2022.
